Participants receiving the case study with the criminal back-round or the version where it had been omitted was used as the independent variable. The actual gender or the self-identifying gender of participants is taken into account as the Quasi variable. The decision of guilty or not guilty made by the participants is considered the dependent variable.
Materials
A link was provided to access the case study followed by a questionnaire totaling 7 questions. The use of an any device with internet capabilities was also used during this experiment.
Procedure
Initial notification was given to the students at the beginning of the semester that there was an online experiment to be done, as well as reminders given throughout the following weeks that students who had not completed the experiment should do so. Participants accessed the survey through the universities blackboard portal after doing so each student access the link provided. Here each provided with a brief description of what they would be doing
