Who Banksy Is and How He Effects Graphic Design
Chose a time period, style, theme, or designer that you enjoyed this semester or want to learn more about. It can be anything as long as it adheres to the time period we’ve looked at this semester and the focus is on graphic design. While it’s ok to choose a work or two we’ve discussed in class, strive reach beyond what is in your textbook and lectures. If you have questions on your topic, please ask your instructor before you get started.
Choose 8-10 works.
Write a 400-500 word introduction to your exhibition (split this over several slides, if necessary). Think about the wall text you might see in a museum or gallery exhibition. What movement/styles do the works belong? What are the major themes? What connects the works together?
Create a label for each image:
Include designer, title, date, media, dimensions (if possible)
Discuss the meaning or significance of each work (6-8 sentences)
The design of your presentation should reflect or be inspired by the time period/style of the works in your exhibition.
Don’t forget to include your sources in a slide at the end (in proper Chicago-style format). Include your image sources. All informational sources must be scholarly.
Use Powerpoint, Keynote, or other slide presentation software to create your exhibition. Start with a title slide, then include your introduction (it’s ok to split it across multiple slides). Each work should be featured on a separate slide and include the image “label”. Add a slide at the end that lists your sources.
