I LIVED IN DESTIN FLORIDA

Through the environment, children are exposed to a wide variety of substances that can affect their health. Children are very vulnerable to potentially toxic substances in the environment that may damage the developing organ systems that may carry lifelong consequences. Contaminants in drinking water and surface water are a potential health threat to children. Through contamination of drinking water, waterborne illness arises (Bento & Dias, 2017). Bodies of water and their sediments may be contaminated with toxic substances; the contaminants may cause serious health effects. Therefore, protecting children’s health against environmental threats and ensuring children a safe, healthy environment is among my highest priorities. Moreover, to protect drinking water is my concern that will help to reduce the further rate of waterborne illness to children. I would like to inform the public about the contamination of water thus reduce children’s exposure, therefore reduce health risks to children who are exposed to contaminated water. Also, to give out information on contaminants to which children may be particularly sensitive, their sources and what to do if their water contains high levels of these contaminants? Further, to address improper disposal and illegal dumping of chemicals and sewage that impact drinking water supplies. Lastly, to educate about contaminated drinking water, improper methods of storing or consuming drinking water and other activities that can further contaminate water supplies: (Audrey & Batista-Ferrer).
