Topic TWO: Discuss the idea(s) developed by the text creator in your chosen text about how individuals examine their relationships in challenging times
In your writing, you must:

● Use specific examples and quotes from the text to
support your discussion of the topic
● Edit/revise for grammar, spelling, and organization
5 paragraphs to focus on:
BP 1- Beginning
● Who is the character at the beginning of the text?
● What are his/her struggles? In other words, what struggles does he/she face?
● What internal conflict does this character have? What is preventing him/her from maximizing his/her potential?
● Once you know the topic, you then need to discuss the above as it relates to your topic.
BP 2- Middle
● How has the character been able to start to change? OR has he/she been unable to progress?
● How has the character begun to overcome some of the challenges he/she faces (as discussed in BP 1)?
● What internal conflict is still preventing this character from reaching his/her full potential?
● What external conflict is still preventing this character from reaching his/her full potential?
● Once you know the topic, you then need to discuss the above as it relates to your topic.
BP 3- End
● What is your chosen character’s final stage of development?
● How is this character different now? What has he/she been able to overcome and how has he/she been able to overcome?
● Has the character ultimately been successful or failed to reach his/her potential?
● Is his/her internal strife lessened by the end? Why or why not?
● Is there an epiphany?
● How do the latter stages of the text help to prove your thesis?
