Assignment 7: Strategic Plan Presentation

Instructions

The CEO of Acme Medical Center has requested that you present your strategic plan to the leadership team comprised of members from disciplines and departments facility wide. Your 8-10-minute PowerPoint presentation should include all the major elements of your strategic plan on the scenario that you selected:

• Executive Summary
• History and Characteristics of the Institution
• Mission, Vision and Values
• Goal and Objectives
• Environmental Analysis/SWOT
• Marketing & Competitive Strategies
• Evaluation & Control
• Appendices

Use bullet points and limit information on each slide so the slides can be readable and viewed easily from a distance. Narration should be focused on major elements in each section, with discussion of ethical principles and theory of change as appropriate.         Incorporate corporate branding and images, text, and symbols related to the plan’s goal and objectives. Appendices should include a Reference List and just a list of other documents to be included in the final strategic plan submission.

My selected Project:

Background:

Today, Acme Medical Center (AMC) is a new, 150-bed, non-profit medical facility created by the merger of two hospital systems – a private doctor’s hospital and a non-profit, county hospital.  AMC is in a rural community, but is surrounded by a state university branch, medical office park, and multiple shopping centers.  The medical center and its physicians are affiliated with a university, teaching hospital some distance away.   AMC is designated as a Critical Access and Rural Hospital.

Location, Demographics and Community Health Overview:

Lindenhurst is a town situated in Lake County, Illinois, 50 miles from the city of Chicago. The 2020 decennial census results show that as of 2020, the population of the town stood at 14,317. The town has a majority white non-Hispanic population which according to Data USA comprises 82.6% of the total population. The rest of the population is white Hispanics (6.65%), Asian non-Hispanics (4.23%), Hispanics (2.94%) and African American non-Hispanics (1.6%).  The other two million residents are an ethnically diverse lot with Asian Americans, native Indians, and migrants. According to the CDC reports, the city has over 20% rate of reports of high cholesterol, a 12% rate of mental illness with prevalence of overall dismal health standing at 8%.

Goal:

Plan for a rural health clinic to increase access to services and to improve   management chronic conditions

Objectives:

• Improve access to primary care service
• Increase referrals to Acme Medical Center
• Provide follow up care from the hospital
• Provide preventive services and community education

Deliverables:

• List of primary care services to be included in clinic, including diagnostic and therapeutic services through AMC
• Create example of a community education program, with content outline and resources available in community and from other sources
• Provide marketing materials for Urgent Care Services

Marketing strategy and materials:

To effectively market urgent care services at AMC, it would be helpful to employ the following materials: leaflets and brochures containing details about the services offered at the hospital. Additionally, contact a list broker or utilize mailing list creation tools to create a database of clients and establish a mailing list of prospective ones. Therefore, it is wise to devise a long-term strategy, preferably one stretched out over six months involving many direct mailers. This shall build AMC’s credibility and improve the response rate upon launching the final tool – an online advertisement campaign.
