Sofia being the capital city of Bulgaria has many people and they all need to commute to different places
in the city. Public transport had been a menace for a long time and people opted to use their own means
of transport. Continued usage of private cars brought immense traffic in Sofia resulting in increased
emission of harmful gases to the air. Bulgaria developed a system that ensured people preferred public
transport to their means hence decongesting Sofia. The price of public transport has different
measurements involving its quality. Passengers need to feel comfortable in the vehicles, secure and
arrive in time. New development that Bulgaria brought to Sofia included extension of subway routes
where they covered the busiest areas and satisfied the need for speed while travelling. Subways serve a
big area but are not self-sufficient as they require other transport means to compliment them. Trolleys,
bicycles, electric buses and natural gas buses are also present in the town to ensure passengers travel
safely and comfortably. Efficiency and convenience are at the center of the agenda. However, the city did
not eliminate diesel buses but replaced them with new ones which are in good condition. The new diesel
buses also have minimal emissions and the government achieves the goal of eliminating them. The city
also has an extensive technological system which prevents traffic accidents.
