Social Media & Social Movement Best Practices
In our final week’s readings, you will read about best practices and strategies that are recommended and are trending for non-profit organizations to undertake for effective social media campaigns. The goal is to apply the reading to social justice initiatives or movements, pinpointing the techniques or strategies the organization/organizers (think social movement leaders as organizers) have used to reach and mobilize their audiences. You should choose the NCRC (National Community Reinvestment Coalition) to analyze.
This assignment asks you to complete the following:
* Locate and identify at least three social media strategies used in this week’s readings
Answer the following questions regarding the NCRC
1. Why you think that organization/organizers used those strategies.
* In your explanation, apply theoretical concepts (citation to support your positions should be from the theory articles)
* Each strategy should incorporate at least 2 direct citations. Do not repeat citations or use definitions) for a total of 6 minimum citations (2 per each strategy)
2. Do you think the strategy was effective, why or why not?
3. What strategy would you recommend if you do not think it was effective? If you thought it was effective, list one strategy that could enhance their initial strategy.
