I want the essay to be built on this title (Shakespeare Othello might be an adaptations of Arabic pre- Islamic life story). first the essay should talk about the adaptation and remediation process that is made to any text to be transformed to other media. the argument of my essay should be built on the fact that Shakespeare might be inspired by the Arabic pre-Islamic life story of Antrah Ibn Shaddad (525-608AD) and wrote Othello. the argument can assert this truth by a comparison between the Othello and Antra there are many similarities between them. In this approach you can demonstrate the cultural diversity and the globalization of the term (adaptation). furthermore you can elaborate transmedial of Othello and interpreted in different cultures. it was a life story by Arabs then a play by Shakespeare. the most important thing the two versions have been adapted as movies in the 19th century. Othello was adapted 1952 as a movie directed by Orsen Welles and Antra was adapted in 1962 as a movie directed by Egyptian Niazi Mustafa. a comparison between these two movies can show many similarities between the two except for the tragic ending of Othello. 1- both Othello and Antar were a brave knights. 2- both of them were suffering out of racial segregation based on their color . both of them were black and Arabs. 3- both of then have been loved. and their beloved ladies sided with them against the traditions and customs of their community and tribes. 4-Othello married Desdemona, but he killed her because of the trapes he filed. Antar didnt marry Abla although he did eveagnry thing to marry her.
