Revolutionary Mothers Monograph (Must Use the 2 sources below)
This paper should 1375 words at minimum.
Your paper must be at least 1375 words in length, typed, double-spaced, with a 12 font size. You must include proper citations and references. Therefore, footnotes (at the bottom of the page) and a bibliography (works cited page) must be included. The bibliography and footnotes do not count as far as word count. You must have a minimum of 1375 words of text written by you. Failure to meet the minimum word count requirement will result in an automatic deduction of 10 points from your grade. You must also include a cover sheet (again, not included in the word count). Furthermore, please be aware that although this is a history course, your paper will be graded on proper formatting and structure as well. Spelling, grammar, punctuation, proper sentence and paragraph structure, etc. will be evaluated as well as content.
You will be writing a paper on the monograph Revolutionary Mothers (listed in the Required Texts section of the syllabus). Therefore, it is important that you gain access to this book as soon as possible. You are required to read this book on your own. I will not give specific reading assignments. Please refer to the syllabus for the due date of this assignment so that you can be prepared.
In the book, Berkin explains the role of women during Revolutionary times in America. You will be writing a paper that supports this idea; developing a clear thesis as well as supporting that thesis with evidence from the monograph and the textbook. These are the only sources you may use in the paper. Use of any other sources will result in a 20 point deduction from your grade. Also, please remember that in order to write a well researched paper and support your thesis fully, you need more than just the monograph. You should not have only one source listed. Please use both sources.
