Context summary
grade- 25/100
comments:
You have cited no sources, but clearly you have gotten your information from somehwere. This is plagiarism. CM
Also, This is far from what you were asked to do? Why are you discussing both Jonah and revelation? You have missed many of the things you are required to do in this paper. CM

grade 1/20
comments:
You were asked to actually choose the sources, not just list categories of sources. You have done nothing more here that rewrite the instructions. In order to receive credit on this assignment.
O-plus
grade 5/20
comments:
This is nowhere near enough observations. You need to spend a lot more time annotating your text and looking for observations. CM
T-plus
grade 10/20
comments:
You were asked to annotate each of the 5 translations as part of the assignment.CM
You really need to focus on MEANING. How does one translation help you understand the text differently than another translation? How do these Translations work together to give you a more full understanding of the passage? CM

comments:
You needed to include your work of selecting five translations and comparing them in order to earn full credit. JJS
out of all the work you have done for me, these are the only ones or parts that need a revision.
I’m also placing a new order
Text summary
Follow instructions in class to complete and post here a sentence-by-sentence and paragraph-by-paragraph summary of your assigned Exegesis Project text.
I have attach the instructions.
GGW 7-alt
After carefully reading chapter 7, describe in the following ways what you bring to the study of the Bible: (1) Describe your family background (culture, personality, socio-economic level, etc.); (2) Describe your faith background (church, conversion, connection to family, etc.); (3) Describe how your background (family, faith, values, beliefs, theological perspective, assumptions, attitudes, etc.) is related to your approach to and perspective of the Bible. Each of the 3 descriptions should be a substantive paragraph (at least 75-100 words for each).
Discussion 1:
Read carefully the vision of John in Revelation 1:12-20, noting particularly the visual aspects of the passage. Sketch and colorize the scene, attempting to capture as many of the visual details as possible. When your drawing is complete, capture an image of your drawing (e.g., take a picture with your phone/camera and download to your computer, scan a pdf copy with a printer/copier) and attach it to your posting to this assignment. In addition to the attached image, write a list of at least 20 observations that come from your visualization and then explain how specifically such a visualization of a text like this one enhances your understanding of the message of the text (at least 100-word explanation, which can include examples). Put in the subject line a word or phrase to identify what you see as the main idea of the text.
Discussion 2:
Below (in italics) is the content of a poorly-written e-mail that circulated soon after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005. The e-mail included an interesting interpretation of Scripture. Your task is to evaluate the interpretation(s) that you find here. What is appropriate and/or inappropriate about how the Bible is used? Make sure you explain why you come to the conclusions you do. Since personal comments (interpretations) are inserted into the text of Revelation 18 below, you should use your Bible to confirm what is and is not a part of the text. Please work hard at evaluating without personal judgment. Your reflection should be at least 100 words. Put in the subject line your impression from Revelation 18 about which city is being described.
INTERESTING REVELATIONS ABOUT KATRINA
The name Katrina means Pure. The dictionary defines Pure as “Free from adulterants or impurities, Free of dirt, defilement, or pollution, Containing nothing inappropriate or extraneous.”
Basically, Katrina was a cleansing, a washing away for those cities and states, that had been know for sin. Then I started to do some math as I realized that Katrina hit almost 5 years to the date of 9/11. But to be a little more exact it had been 1,814 days since 9/11. So I decided to go to the Word. I was lead to Revelations chapter 18, verse 14 (1814).
Revelation 18:14, And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more! ! at all. So I continue, 15:The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, sounds to me like the merchants are those who supported the sin 16:And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! Purple & gold? colors of mardi gras hmmm and don’t you get beads…17:For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade ! ! by sea, stood afar off, one hour, about the length of time that Katrina stayed over New Orleans.
