Project report
1.Visit a service provider (hotel, restaurant etc) and make an
evaluation of the servicescape. This should include:
—Ambient condition (temperature, music etc)
—Space/function (layout, seating, furnishings etc)
—Signs/symbols/artefacts (signage, décor staff appearance
etc)
—Guest behaviour
—Staff behaviour
—Guest/staff interactions
Make a summary of the servivescape that comments on
—forms of communication
—the atmosphere and the functionality of the space.
Include a critical analysis that identifies any problems with the
servicescape.
2.Visit a cultural venue and select a key space that operates as a
servicescape.
—Describe the servicescape and make recommendations about
how it could be redesigned. Explain what will be achieved by the
changes you recommend.
3.Make a brief presentation of 2. This should be in the form of a
powerpoint presentation with photos of the servicescape. This may
require authorization from the relevant business. (This will be
equivalent to 500 words)
The report you submit should be approximately 3000 words. It should:
—describe the service provider you visited and your summary
—describe the cultural venue you visited with the
description, recommendations and explanation.
—include relevant illustrations
