Presentation: Identifying emerging trends and developing new product ideas.
Description
Consider this is a small consultancy team. Work together and identify the emerging trends relevant to a particular issue through secondary research. Then brainstorm and develop a new product/ service idea that appeals to your target customer.
You will need to make a group presentation for 15 to 20 minutes. Your slides will be uploaded together with your individual report on Aula. Each person uploads their own report.
A Proposed Structure of the Presentation The presentation will be marked against the followings criteria:
1. Team Profile: Briefly introduce each team member (e.g. who you are, what you are passionate about, your primary strength etc.). Also, explain your team culture.
2. . Target Customer Personas: Introduce the target customers and tell their detailed personas: what they do, where they live, how they pass their free time, which platforms are they on, what are their pain points etc. This will help you to understand your target customers’ needs and wants better.
3. Trends: Identify 3/4 emerging trends. Use the citation to demonstrate that you have conducted secondary research. Also, use several images to explain the trend visually.
4. Drivers: Trends can be seen or identified easily, but drivers are the underlying reason that are causing trends. In this section mention and explain the drivers of the trends that you have identified. Also, use several images to explain the trend visually.
5. Products Customers Are Using Currently: Critically analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the products your target customers are using currently. This will help you design your products/ services better. Ideally, your products should overcome some of the limitations of the products your target customers are using.
6. The New Product Idea: Explain the new product idea that you, as a team, have come up with considering (a) market trends, and (b) the limitations of the products consumers are currently using. Please include both features (functional) and benefits (mostly emotional) of the products.
7. Individual Performance: Your individual performance will be assessed: how you cooperated with other team members and how you performed during the presentation.
8. Engagement/ Class Participation: How you worked and performed as a team during the term.
Additional: A promotional campaign to create awareness about the product/ service among the target customers.

Note: Please note these are the minimum requirement, and you are encouraged to take extra initiative and incorporate new things if necessary. Design the presentation in a way so that it is rich in contents but visually appealing and deliver it using the techniques of storytelling to attract the attention of the audience.
Innovation is manifested through new products and services. Work as part of a small innovative team; and develop a new product or service idea for a brand of your choice. You need to use design thinking; engage with visual and secondary research; and rugby method of new product development process.. Finally you will pitch this idea as if you are pitching in front of the board of directors or Dragon’s Den to win investment for your idea as a business venture. You need to pitch the idea through a PowerPoint, Key Note, Prezi so that your comprehensive research can be explained easily.
