The paper I shared with you discusses at length the benefits of improving the signal control types and of capturing the signal control-driver interaction in a stochastic transport system in terms of reduction in total systemwide delays, and in terms of improvements to total system wide travel times.
What is the Idea? – Another avenue which is generally tied to reduction in delays and improvement of travel times is an outcome of reduction in environmental pollution. Since reduction in delays generally mean fewer cars on the road, or it may mean that cars would be traveling for relatively shorter duration, which means lower particulate matter (PM 2.5)/SMOOT, Nitric Oxides, and Sulphur Di Oxides. If you could take a previously done study which could convert the reduction in delays and improvement in travel times to environmental benefits such as reduction in PM 2.5, NOX, SO2, this will be helpful.
What I need from you? – If you could find a previously published study which takes the reduction in delays and improvements in travel times and converts them to environmental benefits using some statistical model, or by using some statistical method, and then use the same statistical model or method to assess the environmental benefits for the results in this paper, it will be very helpful. Finding the previously published statistical model/method is important.
