I am applying for a scholarship with the college I attend. I am a sophomore and I have two more courses
left but i do not have the funds to finish my remaining courses. This has two parts the first one is:

I will have my A.A. degree then i plan to attend Stetson University, working towards a BA in Sociology.
the career i have chosen is child advocacy. I plan to become a volunteer child advocate with guardian ad
Litem I desire to see children get the help they need develop into what they need to be successful and
the voice that they need to speak on their behalf. I am not eligible for financial aid because I have extra
credits that go beyond what an associate degree requires. I am unable to pay for courses and do not
have any outside resources that could help me. I need this scholarship to help me provide expenses
needed to continue taking classes such as cost of tuition and supplies such as required books. I am
registered with the office of students with disabilities, which has been a great resource for being
successful in my courses. I made the dean’s list and the presidents list during my time at Valencia
College.

I have had health issues throughout my life. I have a seizure disorder, but also, I have struggled with a
learning disability as well. Throughout my time in school and especially attending Valencia College I
questioned my ability if i was smart enough to be successful in college. I have had some bumps in the
road but as time went on i gained confidence, and the perseverance I needed to be successful not just in
school but in life.
