You are responsible for keeping a weekly journal where you will summarize your thoughts on a relevant article from that week’s business news. The topic MUST be related to the human resource function of a company but it does not need to be the same subject we are discussing that week. For instance, you could choose an article that examines pay issues, benefits trends, training techniques or other things that affect the human resources of a company
First find an article from a reputable business publication (online is fine if it’s just the delivery format). Some examples might be Business Week, WSJ, NY Time Business section, SHRM.org, or any other relevant business publication (Do not use Wiki-anything, About.com or anything close that those kinds of sites, do not use Blogs)
The article you read MUST be dated (published) as coming from that week and must have a link to it in your journal entry. Please choose an article from April 1-April 8
First, provide a brief summary of the article (1 paragraph). The next paragraph should address questions like what are the main issues at hand. Why is this important? Why did you choose this article? Then, offer your thoughts on the position taken by the author(s) or state whether his key points are well taken or are off in the clouds somewhere. Make sure you use good grammar, punctuation and proper word usage
You MUST include a link to the article AND cite it in APA format. Credit will be deducted if these are not included
