Appendix
Justify why the problem exists…Given the company’s major problem (i.e., What decisions must be
made? What choices must be faced?), use any of the below to help you come up with your
justification or something else

How will all the companies in the industry lose or gain from the problem as they are
currently positioned?
b. Who has endured this problem before?

(FYI. When you finish answering this question, you should know: 1) if
you are considering entering this industry, do you want to enter this

What are the company’s internal strengths and weaknesses?
How would you describe the company’s financial condition? How would you
describe the company’s financial condition compared to its competitors?
Prepare a comparative performance analysis using backward-looking
performance measures (accounting profitability performance diagnosis
using the ROIC).
Prepare a comparative performance analysis using forward-looking
performance measures (Shareholder value creation).
Develop a strategy or strategies (SWOT/TOWS Matrix) to rectify the problem identified.
What do you believe will be the reactive strategies created and implemented by the
company’s competition?
