3. Pre-departure activities (1 page double-spaced) (10pts): Discuss
different things you need to consider and do before leaving the country
for an extended amount of time (i.e. research your destination, call your
bank, purchase travel health insurance, etc.). This page should discuss
these various aspects, as they are personally relevant to you.
4. Sustainable traveltips and why traveling sustainably is important(1
page double spaced) (10pts): Discuss various tips for traveling more
sustainably. Highlight 5 tips that you consider to be most important
during your travels.
5. Country Profiles (1 page per country; information should be provided
under the appropriate numbering/lettering; only sections b, g, h, and k
should be written in paragraph form, all other information can be listed)

Content and Organization for Itineraries (** Please read the instruction**)
1. Introduction to your trip which includes: dates of your journey,
international airports your will be flying in and out of for the initial arrival
and departure of trip, airline used, cost of airfare round-trip, the order of
the countries your will be visiting, and the overall ‘theme’ of your trip. (1/2
page)
2. Itineraries should be approximately 14 days in length (your travel to and
from the destination should be included in that time)
○ You need to include a brief description of your day, and the
attractions you visit, activities you participate in, and include a
photo/ picture of that attraction. These pictures should have a
label identifying what they are.
○ You should notinclude restaurant, accommodation, or
transportation information (transportation information is
covered in country profile).
○ Do not include specific times, but generally breakdown your
activities by morning and afternoon. Some ‘excursions’ may be
all day events, these are fine; however do not go over 1-2 day
units without providing additional detail.
○ Formatting for the itinerary should be clean and organized!
Resize pictures so they are appropriately placed.
Additional Instructions:
1. You must include atleast 4-5 countries in the itinerary.
2. Your portfolio should be aesthetically pleasing, organized, and easy to
follow. You are expected to follow the organization given in these
instructions. Make sure you use page breaks where appropriate.
3. You can only ‘jump’ a country one time (i.e. take a flight over a country to
get to another country). In other words, the countries you are visiting
should be neighboring or relatively close to each other for ground
transportation, train, or short-haul flights. A realistic travel itinerary
would cut out unnecessary flights in order to save money – you are
expected to create a realistic itinerary.
4. You do not need to arrive and depart from the same country.
5. Extra days – you can add extra days, but only add days to your trip if it
logistically warrants it. Don’t add days just because you find it to be
insulting to a country to only stay 3 days, for the purposes of this project,
limit yourself.
6. Do not copy and paste information from the web. The country profiles
should by formatted specifically as requested in these instructions. No
pre-made itineraries should be used (this will constitute as plagiarism).
Feel free to look for existing itineraries for ideas, but you must then
create your own.
Formatting (10pts deduction if notfollowing guidelines)
1. MS Word only (You can save as a PDF file when it is completed)
2. Single spaced (except for pre-departure activities and sustainable travel
tips page)
3. Page numbers (also included within the table of contents)
4. Font size 12 – Time New Roman
5. Page margins no more than 1 inch
6. Portfolio is organized and labeled per these instructions
7. Percentage of similarity from external resources should be under 15%
The following content is “Turnitin” used.
****This is a group project and being part of the group my job is to do Number 6 which is “6.
Itinerary (see instructions below) (20pts)” 4 to 5 countries should be chosen for an
itinerary. The countries I am responsible for are (China to Mongolia).
The other student is doing from “Thailand and ending in Cambodia” and then mine is from “
“China to Mongolia”
**Remember The other group member chose 2 countries that were a drivable distance .
Now for the one time we can fly I’ll use that on day 7s afternoon . And you have 7 days to
plan the day between the 2 countries you picked which are (China and Mongolia).
