EXPERIENTIAL PAPER – FRIDAY, JUNE 3. CLASS PRESENTATION DUE SATURDAY, JUNE 4
Instructions:
A. Go to the following website and take the personality test you find there:
http://www.humanmetrics.com/personality .
B. Write a paper, minimum of 5 double-spaced pages. If you use outside sources, you must use
APA-style citations and references. Your paper—DUE JUNE 3—should include all the five areas
below, each of which contribute 15 points to your grade for the paper for a total of 75 points
for the paper. Your in-class discussion of the paper—DUE JUNE 4—will contribute the
remaining 25 points. NB: The Experiential Paper and discussion together contribute 10% to
your final grade for the class.
1. Explain whether the test is what you expected and why it was or was not what you
expected. Alternately, if you have previously taken this or other personality tests, explain
whether the results are similar and how they are similar or dissimilar. (15 pts)
2.When the test gives you your personality type, click on the Careers section. Explain whether
you agree or disagree with what the test says about career choices, learning styles, and
communication skills for your personality type. Give specific reasons. ( 15ts)
3. Look at the lists of celebrities, real and fictional and explain the reasons why you agree, or
do not you agree, that you share personality traits with the celebrities indicated by the test.
(15 pts)
4. Your opinion of whether personality tests should be used for hiring. Also give your opinion of
whether personality tests should be used for promotions. Be sure to give reasons for how you
feel. (15 pts)
5. Read the attached article and say whether it affects your opinion of the use of personality
tests in the workplace. (15 pts)
