Marketing in the nonprofit sector
Students will select a nonprofit management topic of their choice. The students will complete an 8-10 page research paper reviewing research and practice literature on the chosen topics. Students will write a literature review related to their chosen topic outlining the state of the art in this area. Topics may include questions related to non-profit management in a selected area of interest or an examination of best practices related to certain facet of non-profit management/practice.
The body of the paper should contain the following sections:
Introduction to the topic and its relationships to nonprofit management
Description of the methodology for completing your literature review
Description of your search article search strategy
Inclusion/exclusion criteria for articles
Review of theoretical and empirical literature informing non-profit management in this area
Overview of gaps in the literature/research on the identified topic
Synthesis of literature review into a set of best practices and/or recommendations for nonprofit employees
Topics must be pre-approved by the instructor. Grading will be based on: 1) the completeness of your literature review on your identified topic; 2) the rigor employed in article review process; 3) evidence of synthesis of research findings in generating recommendations/best practices; 4) the organization and clarity of your writing; and 5) proper use of APA style for title page, in paper citations, and reference list entries. be allocated to the research paper
