Learning and Memory Class

Topic:
Learning and Memory Class
Paper details:
One aspect that students typically enjoy about this course is how relevant the material is to the “real world.” Learning about learning and memory can change the way you think about your own learning and memory, and the changes occurring in those around you. For this assignment, you are to reflect on some of the ways in which the concepts you have learned throughout the course can and will be applied to your life. Having considered this, use this assignment to address ALL THREE of the following questions:
How has course material impacted the way you think about or understand aspects of your own learning and memory (past, present, or future)? Why?
How might course material impact you in a professional capacity (in a current or anticipated career)? Why?
How will course material influence your current or future interactions with family and friends? Why?

Write a reflection paper that explores the above questions in a way that demonstrates conceptual understanding and substantive reflection. Provide evidence and reasoning to support your claims when possible. The goal is to demonstrate your ability to integrate and apply course material to real-world contexts. To receive full credit, your paper must show evidence of understanding course material and evidence of meaningful thought.

Papers should be submitted through Blackboard. While the paper is not due until Wed. 11/17/21, I strongly recommend completing it sooner. All papers must be in Times New Roman (12pt), double-spaced, and have 1” margins.

Grading Rubric for Application Term Paper:

1) Follow APA Style, especially in-text citation guidelines, and use our textbook as the only reference source – see below (up to 40 points). The paper must include Title page, main body of paper, and a Reference page AND MOST IMPORTANTLY cite our textbook within the paper via proper IN-TEXT CITATIONS, which means giving credit to other author’s for their ideas words, and thoughts…paraphrasing/summarizing, and proper APA references. OTHERWISE IT WILL BE CONSIDERED PLAGIARISM, AND YOU MAY RECEIVE A FAILING GRADE FOR THE ASSIGNMENT OR COURSE IN ADDITION TO ANY SANCTIONS ASSIGNED BY THE HONOR COURT . SafeAssign (an academic plagiarism detector) through which you will submit your papers will detect such actions.
In case any of you are wondering why I am belaboring this point, it is because I do not want any more students to experience the consequences of this grave issue: plagiarism. The USCB Student Handbook indicates a person has committed plagiarism if he or she submits the work, sentences, ideas, conclusions and/or examples of others without acknowledging the source.
Since this is a paper describing some of the ways in which the concepts you have learned throughout the course can and will be applied to your life, Our textbook must be the SOLE reference source.
NO WEBSITES OR OTHER SOURCES ARE ALLOWED. NO DIRECT QUOTES SHOULD BE USED IN YOUR PAPER (not to be confused with paraphrases/summaries, which is what the in text citations should be citing). In other words, all of your in text citations should be paraphrases/summaries, IN YOUR OWN WORDS, instead of direct quotes from the authors. Again, NO WEBSITES ARE ALLOWED. The paper should be in 12 point Times New Roman font, DOUBLE-SPACED, with 1 inch margins.

2) Paper is organized in a logical, sequential, goal-directed manner (up to 45 points). This would include an introduction, which informs the reader what the paper is about, introducing the topic in a general way, and providing an overview of the specific subsections to be addressed. It also includes a conclusion which briefly summarizes the main points or findings of the paper. The body of the paper MUST BE at least 4 pages (which does NOT include the Title Page, and Reference page). In other words, the introduction/body/conclusions of the paper should be at least 4 FULL pages (and therefore the title page and reference page shall be 2 pages, which equals the 6 page minimum.

3) Grammar (up to 20 points). This includes proper sentence structure, scholarly vocabulary, punctuation/spelling, etc.

4) Content and Originality (up to 45 points). Thoroughly address the THREE Paper Questions listed above. Also, this means that you take other’s ideas, concepts, knowledge and facts from our textbook and weave them together in an original way that results in an insightful package about topics from the textbook.

Finally, you are STRONGLY encouraged to contact the USC Writing Center to receive useful feedback on your draft. You can access information about USCB’s Writing Center at: http://www.uscb.edu/academics/academic-success-center/index/index.php

Again, all of your in-text citations should be of paraphrases/summaries, IN YOUR OWN WORDS, instead of direct quotes from the authors
