1. Identify at least three leadership traits (1 point each) that Kamiah demonstrated and provide a brief example (1 point) of how each one of those traits was used to engage various individuals in the development process. (3 paragraphs) 6.1 and 6.2 This question is worth a total of 6 points.

2. Imagine Kamiah was a social worker. When you think about the leadership traits you identified above, (intelligence, confidence, charisma, determination, sociability, and/or
integrity), how were those traits also consistent with social work core values (social justice, dignity and worth of the person, service, importance of human relationships, integrity and/or competence)? 3. Complete 3.3 Leadership Styles Questionnaire on page 73. Tally up your ratings utilizing the directions on page 75. You will provide your individual scores for each of the three types of leadership (authoritarian, democratic and laissez-faire) and identify the range (very high, high, moderate, low and very low) (1 point). As you look at your results on the Leadership Styles Questionnaire, think about your styles within the context of social work practice. Keep in mind, leadership skills can be in a supervisor context or at as colleague, group leader, community organizer, clinician, etc. It is your choice for this assignment).

Introduction:
This week the focus will be on understanding what leadership is, i.e. a trait, skill, behavior, ability, etc. There will be a focus on the traits of leadership and the different styles of leadership with a variety of examples and an opportunity to identify your own traits and styles of leadership. An additional reading will also explore trauma informed supervision. Although the text commonly discusses leadership within a supervisory context, students are encouraged to look at leadership skills within a broader social work context, i.e. engaging clients, collaborating with colleagues, serving on multidisciplinary teams, etc.
