Information about your Sorority: Phi Mu 2012-2015 USCA

Reason for joining sorority: First semester living on campus at the Crossings, but beyond room and class wasn’t involved so it was her way of joining something and being able to find friend that made her feel at home. Also made connections on campus to help transitions.

MARSHALL: What can your fraternity/sorority offer a student?

WEHRMANN: “I think a lot of different things” Community aspect of it and more tangible things like Scholarship, so academic support. Raising funds for non-profits. Social aspects.

MARSHALL: Is Greek Life an important part of the campus? Why or Why not?

WEHRMANN: Yes, I think so. If you look at a lot of organizations’ on campus most of those students are a part of Greek Life. Its encourages leadership, and although it isn’t required to be a leader most strong leaders nationally locally and historically are a part of Greek Life. Values are strived to live and stand by daily beyond the campus.

MARSHALL: What kinds of activities do sororities participate in on Campus?

WEHRMANN: Basically everything. Any campus activities happening on campus SOMEONE from each chapter is there to represent. Greek Specific awards.

MARSHALL: Does the schools Greek Life have a lot of influence within the community?

WEHRMANN: Yes, just like I stated above. Events held most members of the community participate in things as far as philanthropy events.

MARSHALL: What makes USCA Greek Life stand out against other universities?

WEHRMANN: Smaller campus, so it’s a more intimate aspect of it. Its easier to be a family.

 MARSHALL: Is there anything else that you would like to add in regards to Greek life as it pertains to sororities?

 WEHRMANN: Just that yes it provides all those things while in school but it expands beyond graduation. Engaging from an Alumni standpoint.

Information about yourself: From Greenville SC, transfer from Greenville Tech. Mom to a 6 y/o

Information about your Sorority: Phi Mu (pi chi) 2018

Reason for joining sorority: Show people that you aren’t the typical sorority girl or be a certain type of way, anybody can do it.

MARSHALL: What kinds of activities are your members involved in on campus?

TROTTER: Philanthropy week where we raise money for different organization, and try to keep everyone involved in Greek Life.

MARSHALL: What can your fraternity/sorority offer a student?

TROTTER: Leadership skills for sure. Lead groups of women with the same values. Communication skills different team building oppurtunities.

MARSHALL: How involved are your alumni with your current members at USCA?

TROTTER: VERY involved. They help with pretty much anything needed, planning and hosting events. Donations. Its really cool because it not just USCA, its other universitites that come together.

MARSHALL: Do you have a “big brother/big sister” program within the Aiken community or something similar?

TROTTER: Yes, we do things like going to hospitals and hang out with the kids.

That’s our biggest Aiken community thing, b ut wed also have other things nationwide.

MARSHALL: What makes your sorority unique and sets it apart from other sororities on the USCA campus?

TROTTER: Well, that’s a hard one. I think all of them are unique in their own ways, like the values. Our values are LOVE HONOR AND TRUTH, so that is what we abide by. Its an honor working with all.
