Title: The article title is alluring and peaks the reader’s interest. Hand hygiene practices is
clearly identified as the key phenomenon under study. The title states explicitly that the group
being investigated is nursing students to identify their perceptions about hand hygiene.
Abstract: in the abstract, the authors clearly and concisely summarize the study’s background,
aims and objectives, design, methods, results and conclusions. Additionally, the researchers also
stated the relevance of their study to clinical practice in the abstract. Five key words were also
stated.
Statement of the Problem: The researchers clearly state the problem in the introductory
paragraphs, whereby they report that the prevalence of HCAIs, is as a result of poor hand
hygiene practices among health workers. The authors state that the main hindrance to effective
hand hygiene is low compliance among health workers. Notably, the problem is a significant
issue for nursing though the authors neglected to use the term nursing and opted to use health
