Our Mission

The mission of The Center for Human Trafficking Awareness is to work collaboratively with our partners to promote improved awareness about Human Trafficking.   We are committed to providing programs that facilitate and support many aspects of Human Trafficking, including training, education, and the mental, emotional, spiritual, and social domains of survivors.

Program Goals

• To minimize the trauma experienced by children, adolescents, and adults who have been identified as victims of human trafficking
• To improve the investigation and prosecution of human trafficking cases from the point of intervention through to treatment and healing
• To promote inter-agency collaboration for effective decision making and management of human trafficking cases
• To prevent further and/or future traumatization of child victims
• To provide training professionals in the field of investigation, prosecution and provision of services for trafficked children, adolescents, and adults
• Treatment of victims of human trafficking (sex and labor)

Our Staff

Agency Director

C.J. Cregg, PhD, LCSW-C – C.J. has served as the Director of The Center for Human Trafficking Awareness since we opened our doors 10 years ago. She has extensive training in supervision and administration as well as crisis intervention.

Assistant to the Director / Office Manager

Richard Castle – Richard manages The Center for Human Trafficking Awareness office as well as serving as assistant to the Director. In his spare time, he is a bestselling mystery novelist and enjoys spending time with his daughter, Alexis.

Therapists

Amy Farrah Fowler, PhD – Amy has her PhD in neurobiology and has dedicated her life to helping others understand how the mind works. Her understanding of the inner workings of the brain heighten her ability to assist those struggling with mental health issues in developing the skills they need to combat negative cognition and replace them with positive patterns. In addition to providing individual services, she is the lead therapist for various treatment methods.

Riley Labrador, PhD, LCSW – Riley has a PhD and Master’s degree in social work. Her focus since graduating with her MSW has been to further understand the risk and protective factors in building healthy mental, emotional, social, and physical health for survivors of human trafficking.

Phoebe Buffay, LCSW – Phoebe has spent her adulthood bringing music and massage to her many fans. Nine years ago, Phoebe switched her focus to learning more about meditation practices and yoga. Phoebe leads our yoga and meditation instruction, as well as conducting individual, group, and family therapy. She is a therapist with our program.

Camille Soroyan, PhD, MD, LCSW – Camille had a diverse history with law enforcement before turning her attention to family and individual dynamics upon adopting her daughter. Camille offers family and individual therapy services. She is a therapist with our program.

Ziva David, LCSW – Following a successful career in intelligence and law enforcement, Ziva turned her attention to helping others develop the skills they need to manage life events. She also continues to connect mind-body practices through her practice of yoga and meditation. Ziva focuses on individual and group therapy as well as yoga and meditation. She is a therapist with our program.

Carl McMillan – LCSW – Carl also comes to us from law enforcement. He has extensive experience with family dynamics and lends his expertise to our practice. Carl provides family and individual therapy. He is a therapist with our program.
