During this project, you will demonstrate what you have learned about different genres by creating a
collection of published and original works centered around a specific theme or topic.
Each project will be evaluated on the following:
Focus on a specific theme or topic
Attention to genre characteristics and creativity in two original works
Attention to genre characteristics in analysis of two published works
Project Requirements: English III Multigenre Project Rubric
Preface: You will introduce the theme or topic of your project. You will discuss how each of the pieces in
your project address your theme or topic and how they relate to each other. For your two published pieces,
you will discuss why you chose them. For your two original works, you will discuss the creative process.
Two Published Works: Your project will include two published works in two different genres. You will
include the text of the works in your project, along with an analysis of the piece and its treatment of the
topic or theme.
Two Original Documents: Your project will include two original pieces of writing in two different genres.
You may pick from narrative, poetry, drama, informational, and multimodal/digital. This chart will give you
ideas.
