“Explore the extent to which digital technologies have impacted (and will continue to impact) the working lives of those in your chosen job/profession.”
You may find it helpful to use the following notes to guide your research and writing:
- Introduction – what is significant about your chosen career path/job and why you chose to focus on the opportunities it offers for your own career development
- Context – discuss how developments in the digital economy are impacting upon organisations operating within that sector – for example, how is the competitive landscape changing?
- Focus (main part of your essay) – what are the implications for your chosen career path? How can you best prepare for employment and/or further career progression in this field?
- Evidence (throughout your essay) – to develop your argument, make sure you draw upon and reference the appropriate evidence from the module materials and your further research. We do not want to see too much use of materials (such as press releases and opinion pieces) found via general internet searches – to gain a good mark you need to show us that you are accessing high quality literature and reports, and using them to provide evidence for all of your points and observations.
- Where appropriate, we encourage you to support your argument with contemporary visual resources such as diagrams, images or infographics.
