For this assignment I want you to interview at least 3 people who share a common bond. It could be 3 combat veterans, or three women who are currently pregnant, or three people who survived a natural disaster, or three homeless people…you get the idea.
You have to design either a structured or semi-structured interview made up of just a few questions (5 to 10). You can ask them anything about their experience that you want but ask each respondent the same questions…I suggest you record them. Let them know why you are doing this and assure them of their confidentiality (and their responses will be anonymous to me…the ONLY person reading their interviews). Remember that have to consent to this voluntarily.
Write up their interviews and use a false first name for each of them (no last names).
Your work should have 3 parts:
Part 1: A description of the person (using fake first name), setting for the interview and why you chose this person.
Part 2: A transcription of each of the interviews.
Part 3: Your analysis of the three interviews. (try to illustrate any common themes that emerged from each of their stories, and set it all in a larger social context).
