The term paper will be broken down into several steps (or assignments) in the “servicing” process.

Blocking the guest rooms
Writing a group resume
Blocking function space
Ordering food & beverage
Booking audiovisual services
Generating BEOs and a Final Invoice

This is Assignment 2: Blocking guest rooms

As the convention services manager at Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando Resort  in Orlando, FL, you have already sent your letter of introduction. Now it is time to start working on the guest rooms block. Attached is an email from the meeting planner giving you an updated list of room reservations. Please review that email and create a room block. Remember to keep track of the rooms that will be placed on the master account because that will be applied to the final invoice.

Term Paper Assignment 2: Guestroom Blocks Instructions:

Review the email from the meeting planner from Darden Restaurants for the information about the room block.
Create a room block based on the information within the email.
include any early arrivals and late departures
include any upgraded room requests for VIPs
include room rates for each type of room
identify the room that will have the complimentary room applied to
Keep track of the rooms that will be charged to the master account. This should be reflected onto the final invoice.

For an example, refer to page 387 in the textbook
Spreadsheet should at least include arrival date, departure date, room type, name, room rate, resort fee, tax, and total
This assignment will be graded and is worth 100 points. Review the rubric for content that will be graded.
