Goals Memo

Directions: Based on your initial readings in this class (text, lecture notes, and syllabus), decide what your 10 goals are for yourself. They may pertain to: this course, CSUN, your career, your writing, your professional development, your personal life, your health, other courses, or anything else that you feel is a goal worth setting. Compose a MEMO addressed to me and detail these goals. Use what we have read already. A memo is not the same thing as a letter. Memo samples can be found in pages 133-141 of your text. Give a bit of detail on each goal to explain it or tell me why it is important.
Grading Criteria: This is a first- attempt assignment in this class and will be graded as such. 0-25 points based on: completeness, proof-reading, editing, and critical thought. I will not be grading your format of a memo, that said, you have begun reading about professional writing so should try to best in regards to format. Your next assignment will be where you demonstrate your memo skills and are graded on such.
Uploading your work: Post an attachment .doc or .pdf to the correct Moodle forum. As this is a memo, and much of this class is based on format, do not copy/ paste text as it will lose format. Likewise, those of you working in .pages need to save as a .pdf as the format will not upload correctly. If I cannot read/ access your document, you will not receive credit.
Further thinking: You will need a copy of this goals memo to complete your final exam progress report in this class. So, keep it handy! Likewise, if you do not complete this assignment, it will negatively impact your final progress report grade in that regard.
