Freelance Labor In Project Management

Technology has completely changed the way we work and there are more freelancers today than ever. In the US they are already more than 34% of the workforce (about 53 million) and this figure continues to grow year after year.

The use of freelance work as opposed to traditional workers has opened the possibility for goal-oriented companies. Furthermore, the rise of work from home and the decentralization of workspaces created an explosion on freelance labour. While freelance labour might pose as a key solution for certain companies, here are many considerations that need to be addressed. For instance, increased costs compared to normal workers,
discrepancies in scope or execution, and lack of investment in the company.

The objective of this assignment will be to analyze the feasibility and usefulness of freelance labour with the scope of project management. Freelance labour is often judged based on the results of the project, but this does not mean that freelance labour comes without complications.

Alas, the assignment will dive deep into the advantages and challenges of freelance labour. Lastly while the topic of freelance workers is not new, the recent pandemic has shifted some of the paradigms around the business practice making it an interesting topic of research.

You have a tentative approval to proceed if you tighten up your thesis, focus on Project Management, and build up to 20 references with a balance arguing each side.
