for this production? (dramaturge, makeup designer, fight choreographer, and…)
Marketing – Does both advertising and public relations.
Read the script. Who would be the best audience for this production? Who do you want
to reach out to? Think about the poster, the ads, how and where are you getting info out to the
public? Would you create a website? Instagram account and …?
Director- The Leader. The Coordinator. Holder of Artistic Vision.
Read the script. Analyze the script. Interpret the play. Identifies the spine- the central action or
central idea that draws everything together. Develop the overall concept for the production.
Who might you cast?
Dramaturge – as literary manager, researches the background of the play and the playwright.
Read the play. What in the script and story do you need to research? What research can
you do to assist all the others involved with the production?
Scenic Designer – Visual creation of the world – place, time, reality.
Read the script. Analyze the script for given circumstance and scenic requirements
dictated by the script. What are the mood and style? Do research for scenic elements. Do not
show pictures of another, previous production.
Costume Designer – An effective costume shows the audience who the character is, helps to
establish overall theme and mood of production. … Gender, Age, Occupation, Social Status,
Geography, Season/Weather, Time of Day, Activity, Historical Period, Psychological Factors

Lighting Designer – The illuminator of the world.
Read the script. Analyze the script for any items related to lighting requirements. Do
pictorial research for images of lighting mood.
Sound Designer – Designs and creates the sounds and soundscape of the world.
Read the script. Analyze the script for any items related to sound requirements.
Do pictorial research for images that would relate to sound. What actual sounds will you need
to supply to help tell the story? What supplemental sounds and/or music would you want to
add, to bring more support to the world?
