a. You will be submitting this through Turnitin, so it is a file upload. Turnitin does not allow late submissions, so please turn it in on time. there will be a 5 point deduction for late submissions.

b. You have one attempt.

c. There is no time limit.

d. It must be MLA formatted: heading, last name and page number, spacing, margins, in- text citations, etc.

e. You need a Works cited page at the end- the last page.

f. Address the prompt directly.

g. You need one direct quotation and one paragraph there have to be in the body paragraphs. One in each.

h. Use the sample essay (posted above) as a model. Pay attention to the following:

The background infomration in the introductory paragraphs includes the problem and the solution, but, in a general way. Details being in the body paragraphs.
The thesis statement contain the problem and the solution.
Note the topic sentence in the first body paragraph in the sample. Look at the topic sentences, and see how the author supports this idea with two points.
In the first body paragraph, note the transition the author uses to introduce the second point.
In your second body paragraph, you need to discuss the solution you choose.
Your concluding paragraph restates your main points, in different words and includes : a call to action, a prediction, or a personal commentary.
i. Do not use any outside sources, only what we have used in this class.

j. I am not looking for a detailed economic analysis of the issue. I need to see how well you understand the sources we used in class and how well you can incorporate these ideas and examples into your writing.
