How listening skills impact of your effectiveness as a Leader
Description of Assignment:
This assignment deals with the challenge of leading across cultures. You will have to compare and contrast your culture with that of someone from another continent within the class. You will do a full executive interview with the student representing the culture you will need to write this interview up. You will then write a 2,000 word essay on the challenge of leading in your culture, the challenge in leading in the other culture you are analyzing and compare and contrast both using either Hofstede or the globe as a framework with relevant examples drawn from your interview and external research.
Grading Criteria (What constitutes a good assignment?): A demonstration of your listening skills as evidenced by your transcript of your interview with the person from another culture. External research on the culture you are researching and around the analysis of your own culture to include hard requirements (legal, pay etc) and soft (masculine vs feminine cultures etc. You should draw on either Hofstede or Globe theories, outlining the methodological issues around the studies and any pifalls when examining the two cultures you are evaluating.

Interview Questions that i have to answer:
1) Which is the most common inclination of the social behavior in Germany between female and male? Do you consider that your society is more feminist or masculine? Why?
2) Generally speaking in the work environment, in order to resolve a task or challenge what is the most common method to face problems in the workplace it is very common operate in team work or face the challenge left alone by themselves?
3) How is distributed the power of hierarchy in your culture? Do you think that the power is organized with certain inequality?
4) How you define and explain the pride and love that Germans feel about their own country and culture? How patriot does you consider yourself about your country and culture?
5) In terms of referring to the day a day social environment how the relationship between the people in your community, following the social norms do you thinks that Germans are considered kind, caring and generous people?
6) There is a curious fact that states that Germans works under a very strict perfectionist regimen, Do you personally considered that this fact is true? How they manage to improve and work towards a good development of the performance of their jobs and their daily family rolls?

Sorry I forgot: The Topic: Leadership and culture interview and essay

The Interview I provided you already the questions I was asked. I have to answer them (part of the work so that the essay can be written) and I have to write the essay in which Germany (my country) will be compared with Venezuela (my partner\”s country). I will send you the answers to the same questions just about Venezuela instead of Germany that my friend has to work out asap!
