I thought the most interesting thing was that although worldwide we are going through a recession, that China still is able to have an 8% economic growth. This was the most interesting to me because everywhere economically has greatly plummeted in terms of economic growth, but for China to still be able to maintain its growth during this pandemic truly shocks me.
The part that I had the greatest understanding was the 50% of the Spanish youth are unemployed, this percentage includes the percentage of those who are in school, thus are not looking for a job and so even though it was stated that 50% of Spanish youths are unemployed, the number 50% is most likely inflated by the news and that number should be taken in perspective. Even though that being said, this generation of the Spanish youths could possibly still be at risk of being “a lost generation” which is disheartening to hear it said that way since it is not this generation’s fault that this pandemic is occurring during their lifetime and it out of their control.
I feel that I need more help understanding about debt relief. I have heard of this term before, I am just wanting a more clear explanation of what exactly it does for our economy and our society and how it will impact us as a whole.
A concept that I took from this discussion from the “Spanish and Greek Response to Debt Crisis” is that discouraged employers is an actual thing. Personally experiencing it first hand, seeing our world these past few months with all the negatives piling on top of each other can easily make us feel unmotivated and become discouraged. But, in order to try and attempt to turn things around for the better, it is our job as individuals that if we want positive results, we must do our part to keep going and keep our goals in mind.
