Domestic Violence Recidivism when Police Intervene

The paper is a RESEARCH PROPOSAL in which you will develop a research study to find the correlation of recidivism in Family Violence or Domestic Violence when police intervene by being called out, making an arrest, provide resources, or any other police action used to resolve the disturbance. The objective is to see the rate and or correlation if the domestic violence happens again in the relationship after police action is taken. You will have to develop and write HOW you will conduct this research in an ethical manner. WHY you are doing this research and WHO would most likely participate and who wouldn’t. Any ethical dilemmas you may face while conducting this research. Also write what challenges we may face doing this research. You will also write about who this research study will benefit the most whether it be law enforcement or criminal justice studies, and or society. A hypothesis maybe developed as well and your prediction of this research proposal. Can this research study have any negative or positive effects on the subjects? We can we expect from this research study. Past studies, expected results, statistical analysis, and analysis, tabulation and conclusion.

Forms will have to be produced to screen subjects partaking in this research study. Another Form will be for the subject partaking in the study in regard to their current relationship/past relationship involving family/domestic violence. A Consent/Waiver Form to voluntarily participate in this research study for educational and law enforcement purposes. A privacy form noting that the subject’s personal identification and information will not be released. A form advising the subject that if the subject does choose to participate in the research study, Lamar University will provide the subject with information and additional resources to assist the subject that may be in a situation where family violence has occurred or is currently going through. Lamar University will also provide resources in recouping from the emotional stresses and trauma of family/domestic violence with psych services, counseling, and supportive services if they choose to accept assistance.

I have attached a sample of a research proposal, the layout/outline, and format of how the paper is to be written and how the forms may appear.

Instructions:
Assemble a packet of materials for submission (as if you would submit it to the Institutional Review Board). This includes all required paperwork, consent forms, and most of all a research ‘protocol’ or descriiption of your research design, the contribution you hope to make to social knowledge, and the protections for research with human subjects appropriate to your proposed project. This is your opportunity to present your own proposal.
