HOW TO COMPLETE WRITING ASSIGNMENTS

letter spacing, indented paragraphs, no extra spacing between paragraphs, and single sided.
 Assignment questions should be answered in your own words. One or two quotes may be
included if necessary, but the majority of the assignment must be your own thoughts.
Copying straight from the article is plagiarism and will result in a zero on the assignment (but
cannot be not counted as a dropped assignment).
 Assignments must include a cover sheet. Cover sheets serve at your citation. No other
citation is needed. However, if you include any quotes, you must put quotation marks around
quoted material. The cover sheet should include the following.

o The same article specific information that would be provided in a reference list:
 The title of the article
 Name(s) of the author(s)
 Date of publication
 The name of the journal (or book, including publisher, publisher location, and
editors, if applicable)

 The assignment pages must be numbered (with the cover page as page 1) and be stapled with
a single staple in the upper left-hand corner. Please do not use any type of binders.
 Late assignments will be accepted, but a 10% deduction will be assessed for each week (or
portion thereof) late.
 If you must miss class, you may have someone else turn in your assignments. Alternatively,
you may e-mail them to me by the time the class ends (Monday night 9:45 p.m.). Papers e-
mailed after class time will be considered late.
 Up to 10 points will be deducted for poor grammar, excessive spelling errors, and/or failure
to format the paper correctly.
