Dark data and GDPR issues around that
I need to write two pages with very specific information about the topic (Dark data and GDPR issues around that) and come up with Research Questions for my future qualitative Ph.D. project. at this time the potential supervisor asked me to write a brief overview after reading the literature on Google Scholar and come up with research questions and the main aim for the qualitative project.
I would really appreciate high-quality work as this proposal is for a Ph.D. level.
about the topic:
Dark Data – a lot of companies are gathering data but they are only using a small part of it. What happens to the remaining data that they are not using (how are they addressing the GDPR issues with the remaining unstructured or dark data). (Dark data and GDPR issues around that)
• Data can be dark from different aspects (it can be dark from outside the organization, but can be visible to individuals within the organization)
• Special groups creating lots of information that is not visible to people and is not correctly regulated.
• Lack of attention paid in a lot of organizations to this dark data. (it becomes invisible, even though it is still there) cuz stores are cheap. Move it to cheaper storage which is less secure.
• As Gartner defines it, dark data is “the information assets organizations collect, process and store during regular business activities, but generally fail to use for other purposes.”
