create a literary research

You must have turned in your MLA exercise in order to meet the pre-requisites to turn in the Final Research Paper. See course syllabus for specific directions. Send me your final paper in WORD file. You can choose your own topic for the final paper. The only requirement is that you write a literary research paper with a focus on one of the stories we analyzed in this course — (you must include 3 peer reviewed secondary sources to support your thesis). You may compare one of our books to another book and/or movie not coved in this course but your focus must be on a work read in this course. If you prefer I can assign a topic–just let me know. If you are not sure of what a “literary research paper” is, then go to the Purdue Owl Writing Lab and read the MLA site directions/guidelines/examples.
You should use the peer-reviewed articles we read (Code and Santos) this semester as models. Also, make sure you read the description/guidelines and examples or RESEARCH PAPERS available in the READINGS FOLDER and at the MLA site at The Purdue Owl Writing Lab. There you will find everything you could ever want to know about how-to create a literary research paper step-by-step. Make sure you read it!!! If you turn in a social-science or a response paper, you will NOT receive ANY points for this assignment. Make sure you include, at least, 4 LITERARY, PEER-REVIEWD ARTICLES as secondary sources. All your secondary sources must be properly documented in the body of your paper (in-text citations) as well as in the works cited page at the end. Only include works you actually used, and properly cited, in your paper.
MAKE SURE that your attachment reads: your last name.doc or docx
Late papers will NOT be accepted and there will be no extra time to resubmit it. Make sure you get it right. It is way better to turn it in BEFORE the deadline to avoid any last minute problems, such as power failures, computer problems, etc. If you do not see your submission posted it did not get posted correctly. Fix any problems BEFORE the deadline. NOTE that the MLA Exercise is a mandatory prerequisite to turn in a final paper. In other words, unless you turn in the MLA exercise on time, you will not be able to hand in a final paper and your grade will be 0 for that assignment.
Note that the final paper is worth 10 points of your final grade. You may elect not to do it and still get a decent grade. However, be aware of the fact that no one will receive an A as a final course grade unless you submit the final paper. It’s your choice! Make sure you understand what constitutes plagiarism. Any one caught plagiarizing will receive an F as a final course grade–no excuses or exceptions.
Post your papers here, using PDF or WORD attachments–if you use PAGES or any other program to post your paper and I can’t open it, then you will receive a 0 for the submission. There will be no time to resubmit your paper in the correct format; you will get a 0, so do it right.

NOTE: the final research paper is a LITERARY, not a Social Science, research paper. You will use literary sources and analyze a work of fiction–NOT a social issue, such as the treatment of the elderly in the U.S. In order to turn in a final paper, you MUST HAVE TURNED IN the MLA Exercise on time. Your paper should follow the most current MLA guidelines. In your paper, you must use a minimum of THREE (3)  peer-reviewed, scholarly (primary and secondary) sources.  The final paper should be ten to twelve (10-12) pages long (body/text only)—no more, no fewer. You may submit your paper anytime during the semester, but no later than the due date. Papers submitted early on may be revised as often as you care to revise them. Again, late or short work will not be accepted and you will receive a 0 for the assignment. Throughout the semester, I will be available to help you revise your work. You are free to choose your topic but your paper must be a literary research paper focusing on one of the book studied in this course. You should pick your own topic.
