TASK 1
1. Go to the ASSESSMENTS section of the Course of Study and click ‘View Details’ for Task 1.
2. Download the Topic Approval Form and the Capstone Release Form.
While you are there, view the Human Subjects FAQ and take the Human Subjects Quiz; links for both
are in the WEB LINKS area.
3. Complete the Topic Approval Form. If you need help settling on a Capstone topic, contact your Course
Instructor. It may also help you to spend the 40 minutes needed to view the videos in the C769 Pacing
Guide
4. Send the Topic Approval Form to your Course Instructor for signature. If more information is needed, your
Course Instructor will let you know.
5. Submit the signed Topic Approval Form, Capstone Release Form, and Human Subjects Quiz results for
evaluation in EMA or TaskStream.
6. If revisions are required, contact your Course Instructor.
7. When Task 1 is passed, it’s time for Task 2.
TASK 2
1. Go to the ASSESSMENTS section of the Course of Study and click ‘View Details’ for Task 2 and download
the Capstone Proposal Template from the SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS area at the bottom of the page.
2. Using the videos in the C769 Pacing Guide, work through each section of the the Template. At any time,
feel free to contact your Course Instructor with questions or to request a review of your work.
3. Inspect your work for writing mechanics errors and proper APA format. Use this APA Quick Reference to
assist. If additional help is needed with either writing mechanics or APA format, visit the WGU Writing
Center .
4. When you feel ready to submit for evaluation, it’s a good idea to request a final review of your work from
your Course Instructor.
5. Submit Task 2 for evaluation.
6. If revisions are required, contact your Course Instructor.
7. When Task 2 is passed, it is time for Task 3.TASK 3
1. Go to the ASSESSMENTS section of the Course of Study and click ‘View Details’ for Task 3 and download
the IT Capstone Report Template from the SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS area at the bottom of the page.
2. Also download the C769 Task 2 to Task 3 Bridge Material document to help with the transition from Task 2
to Task 3. Use this Bridge in conjunction with the video provided in Week 5 of the C769 Pacing Guide .
3. Using these materials, work through each section of the the Template. At any time, feel free to contact
your Course Instructor with questions, or to request a review of your work.
4. When you feel ready to submit for evaluation, it’s a good idea to request a final review of your work from
your Course Instructor.

7. Contact a Course Mentor if you are having trouble defining a project topic.
8. End this week with an approved project topic in hand.
9. Prepare the appropriate Waiver-Release, Human Subjects and Topic Approval forms.
10. Submit the three forms (Task 1) to TaskStream.
