Funding Policy Memo
This is a nice article that advocates for the cosmetic industry
The proposal/memo will seek to employ a strategy for implementing local, state, or federal policy that will reduce biases against access to health care (the cosmetic industry). You will be assigned to develop a funding request for a specific initiative for one of the above populations. Your Policy Memo will focus on and the justification for why this is an important policy issue. Including data to support your justification is encouraged.
The Policy Memo will be written to an executive of a healthcare organization, health trade organization, state or local representative or member of Congress. Write a concise, well-structured memo in which you provide:
1. An understanding of why this policy issue requires funding,
2. Why this is an important issue to the public health or healthcare delivery system
3. A brief state of the science regarding the issue,
4. What you are proposing funding for that will impact the policy issue,
5. Why you are making this particular proposal,
6. What are the benefits to be expected by the proposal,
7. What stakeholders who may oppose the policy would argue, and
8. A closing statement
Your Policy Memo should be presented clearly and concisely, consistent with the memo style. The Policy Memo should not exceed three, single spaced, 12-point font, 1” margin, pages. A cover page and references are not required although you should include references of the sources you used in preparing the Policy Memo. The bibliography is not counted toward the number of pages. The Policy Memo must be submitted via Turnitin on Blackboard.
