USE PESTLE THEORY AND USE BELOW EXAMPLES AND ANY OTHER RELATED EXAMPLES
I did my placement hours in a Supported Living Accommodation comprising of 5 Service Users with different learning difficulties.
It has Operational manager, House manager, Deputy and Support worker staff.
Using PESTLE Theory, describe how COVID 19 has affected the Supported Living Accommodation, please use the following examples:
Residents or Service Users were required to stay indoors. Relatives were stopped from visiting or entering the supported living accommodation.
Individual’s Internal and External appointments were cancelled unless it was emergency and/or some appointments had to be rescheduled.
All Service user external activities were cancelled like house shopping with staff, staff had to do shopping alone, going to daycentre, going to church, going for walks to the Parks and bus rides.
Staff classroom trainings were cancelled and turned to online training by providing laptops, however this kind of change was not welcomed by all staff member as some were computer illiterate thus making some mandatory trainings not done on time.
Rotas had to be revised and changed around to make sure there would be at least one staff to work in case the pandemic continues.
Extra PPE bought, new posters in the house introduced about the prevention.
Emergency risk assessment were done which included ways on how the Residents would keep in touch with their relatives by creating a timetable of when to make a phone call to their relatives.
