An appropriate statement is challenging, specific, and offers the proper description of the company. This statement shows where the organization is heading and provides its ideal description. EZ-Pleeze vision is for it to be among the top producers in the nation. This statement is appropriate because it reflects the company’s main value, which includes becoming a leader in its industry. Also, it is relevant because its objective is challenging, and it is specific as it implies what the company aims at. Also, it is appropriate because it is a winning vision as it shows the employees where the company is heading. The main issue with the statement is that it fails to provide the proper description of the company.
Structure of Strategic Team
The strategic team involves six members, including Brian Jansen, the Chief of Operations, Tim Burnes the Chief Executive Officer, Karen Haley the Chief Financial Officer, John Kerrington, the Director of Marketing, Mary Miller, the director of research, and Michael Orenson, the director of manufacturing and production. Both Tim and Karen establish and implement the strategy as Tim makes and implements strategic decisions while Karen conducts financial planning and implements decisions concerning the firm’s finances. John Kerrington formulates and implements strategy because he formulates and implements marketing campaigns. Conversely, Mary Miller and Micheal Orenson only implement strategy because Miller organizes research policies and objectives in accordance with the company’s strategies while Orenson ensures the production quotas are met.
Internal and External Influences
Access to financing, technology, and labor costs are the three main internal factors that affect EZ-Pleeze. Access to finances affects the number of employees the company will hire for the long term and the marketing strategies the company will adopt. As well, technology influences strategic decision making because it determines the systems and procedures the company will use to implement its strategic decisions, and it governs the quality of data needed for strategic decision making. Moreover, the labor costs determine the salaries the company will pay to employees, and whether it will use machines or human workers.
Market changes, competition, and legal changes are the exterior elements that will affect the company’s decision-making procedure. Market changes, such as a shift in the types of food products the market prefers, will force EZ-Pleeze to make strategic decisions that align with market changes. Besides this, stiff competition demands the company to make a decision-making process that uses the competitors’ weaknesses to its advantage (Khan & Khalique, 2014). Furthermore, legal changes, which involve the government introducing regulations that can make the company’s products illegal, will impact the company’s strategic process.
Current Strategic Plan
The company has two resource-strengths that will enable the success of the current strategic plan. For instance, it has the technology required to process low-priced foods that align with the market needs, and it has diversified products that will enable it to attract different types of customers across the globe. Despite the advantages, the strategic plan has some disadvantages. For example, the company lacks enough human resources to implement its current strategy since it laid off 10% of its employees. Also, the rising costs will make it hard for the company to make profits with its low-price strategy. For the company to succeed, it will have to increase its prices.
