You will be writing a short paper 500 – 750 words (appx five paragraphs) that is either a literary analysis or a compare/contrast essay. You are free to explore any story or theme that has been discussed in the class. However, if you are unsure about possible topics, I have listed a few suggestions from the book below. Do not feel limited to these. Feel free to write a paper about anything that interests you from the stories and ideas we have discussed.

Read question five and select one of the options.
Write a paper discussing the title of “everyday Use” (p. 152). Include a consideration of the title as it applies to Dee (Wangero) and to her mother and sister. Consider what Dee means by, “You just don’t understand” (para. 79). What does Dee not understand?
