 Which industry or sector?
 What is the scope & direction of the company (scope: what is it that they do, direction: what is it
that they want to achieve?)
 What continents and/or countries are they active in?
 Who are the competitors?
 Are there any substitutions to the product or service? (ex. IPhone, Samsung phone as a
substitute)
 Does the company produce high-tech products or low-tech? (high-tech is usually technology,
and low-tech is something that does not require innovation).
 How long has the company been around? Is it fully-fledged or start-up?
 What is the current position of the company (how successful are they and indicate some
threats)?
 What is the future outlook for the company? (what is the potential outcome under the current
strategy)
 Identify the competitive advantage features of the company
Key Issues & Problems
 Each issue needs to start with the sentence “due to the fact …. (the issue) this caused a
particular outcome on …. (the effect of the issue).
 Explain why the company eventually come to face these issues.
Apply Concepts
 Use concepts that are related to the case study issues, which will allow to have a better
understanding ways in solving the issue. The more concepts being used that are related, the
better it will allow for you to justify your answer
Alternative Courses of Action
 Develop courses of action which will allow to solve the key issues and problems that you
indicated before. The alternative courses of action should be explained briefly about the
concept and what it is.
 In addition, a table should be made, consisting of the alternatives courses of action with
demonstrating the advantages/disadvantages and rating of effectiveness.
