. You should have at least ten sources. At least five should be scholarly (peer-reviewed journal article or book) and at least five should be popular (news article, website, .edu/.gov content, informational videos or TED talks). Each source should be identified by a properly formatted APA citation. Your sources should be organized in alphabetical order.

2. Under each source’s APA citation, you should have three paragraphs. The first paragraph is called your Summary paragraph. Your second paragraph is called your Evaluation paragraph. Your third paragraph is called your Usefulness paragraph. I’ll explain what kinds of questions each paragraph should answer below.

3. Summary: Explain what this source is about in your own words. Please avoid including quotes from the source material. What is the purpose of the source? What is the thesis statement? What are the major findings?

4. Evaluation: This is the paragraph in which you explain how you know whether the source is reliable. Who wrote the source? What are their credentials? What organization published the source (what is the name of the website or journal) and are they reliable? How do you know? Is the source peer-reviewed? If not, is the publishing organization reputable and unbiased? When was the source published? Does that matter in this context? Does the source link to its own sources, or does it have a works cited or references page?

5. Usefulness: How will you use this source in your research paper? Remember, you’re being asked to trace a social movement through time and explain how it affects our modern American life. Does this source give you background information about an important figure or event? Does it share a historical timeline? Does it explain the political or social effects of your chosen social movement? Does it provide useful quotes or statistics?

6. Do: write at least 3 sentences for each paragraph (you should have about 10 sentences under each source). Follow the formatting guidelines for Annotated Bibliographies. Proofread carefully. Write in your own word
