Tips to writing Your Apprenticeship Showcase Report

TOP TIPS:
- Your report will be read by someone you who has no prior knowledge of you, your school or your project.
- Use this report to showcase your leadership.
- Write in the first person.

The report must be 4000 words +/-10%, and can include photos, diagrams and tables where they add value and clarity to the report, but these will be included in the word count. No annexes, appendices or hyper-links are allowed. |

- Include your name and date.
Content Page
Executive Summary (maximum 500 words)
Start with a WOW….use this section to talk about the outcome(s) of your project; how this project links to the school strategic and how it’s impacting the schools’ objectives, along with your role in leading this change.
Project Planning (maximum 1,000 words)
You can either use description or images to convey how you planned your project referencing which change theories/models influenced the change proposed.

Within your project plan you could reflect milestones, which are checkpoints to ensure that the project was on course – this can also be used for monitoring progress.

Create two columns.
First column list all the resources that you will be using to deliver your project. For example project allocated 100 hours to complete research and deliver project; hourly rate for project set at £20 per hour. 100 hours x £20 = £2,000 plus any additional costs (printing, subscriptions to IT software etc)
Second column list all the benefits that will come from implementing the change, reflecting return on investment. For example if the change project is to reduced the number of sick days taken by teaching staff suffering from stress by 50% this could equate to a predicted saving for the school per member of teaching staff of 2 days a year; this then reduces use of agency staff to cover absence, improves staff retention reducing recruitment costs. By retaining one member of teaching staff you are saving the cost of the teachers’ salary (e.g. £35k) which would be cost of recruitment
Delivering and monitoring of project (maximum 1,000 words)
Use this section to demonstrate how you ….
- Led your project,
- Overcame challenges and resolved problems;
- Used decision making tools to ensure the project was implemented;
- Monitored progress;
- Motivated your team to keep going.
Evaluation (around 750 words)
How did you evaluate your project, what was its outcome; also evaluation how you led your project – what did you do well, what could you have done better and what will you do differently leading your next change project?
Recommendations (around 250 words)
What’s next – is there still more to achieve?
