event miscues, failures or disasters.
This concert analysis project should be viewed as a strategic and tactical planning
exercise as discussed in class.
§ Research Safety and Crowd management failures from the Past 5 Years. (NO
Station Fire, Woodstock, or class examples);
§ Present an in-depth analysis of at least three incidents;
§ Use the Safety, Risk, and Hazard outline for ideas (located in BB Content).
1. Point out and comment on crowd management failures;
2. Comment on the decision making & reasons for these failures;
3. Compare and contrast them to concerts and festivals that are well planned
and managed;
4. Outline strategies for solutions that would mitigate these risks and estimate
the potential costs involved;
5. Research and discuss recent attempts by the concert industry to solve these
problems such as the Event Safety Alliance;
6. Present your findings in a professional document.
Suggestions: RECENT Festival & Concert disasters, fire hazards, weather related

problems, drug deaths, etc.
