Section 1 – Intellectual rationale for choosing your programme:
I would like to improve my computational skills for arts to build art works utilizing emerging technology. I also want to explore and study about history and context about computational art and gain deep understanding based on discussion and study.

Section 2 – Previous academic background in relation to your programme choice:
I studied intermedia art and design at OOO University in Japan for my bachelor’s degree, where I gained a wide range of skills and knowledge from science to design, such as basics of programing (C++, Java, Processing) and cognitive science and AI. I was a multi-disciplined generalist by the end of the school and always excited to discuss with people from different backgrounds about arts and science. And now I wish to develop my basic computational knowledge to higher lever and create art works using computational skills, such as Arduino, Processing, MaxMSP, and also interested in AI and data analysis.
Also, I learned craftsmanship and fabrication skills in industrial design department at the Rhode Island School of Design for a year which I think it will definitely a strong skill to combine with computational skills.

Section 3 – Other experience that contributes to your programme choice:

After graduation from OOO University, I worked as a graphic designer at XA where I developed not just software skills in graphic design but also sense of working in team. I had involved in printed and digital media design, clients are ASICS, Google, Tokyo Art Beat and other many japanese art festivals.
Also I worked as a community manager at a social gifting service company giftee, inc. in Tokyo.I was in charge of social media accounts of the company, and my responsibility with users and analyzed their wants and

Section 4 – What are your long term academic goals and how will this programme help you achieve these?

My long term academic goals is to suggest critical radiant in mundane to audience by speculative work, and I would like to build my strength on physical computing as an artist.
