Teacher evaluations have significantly changed in the past 10–15 years and consequently so has the role of the administrator in conducting them. While evaluations may be one of the more sensitive aspects of being an administrator, when done appropriately they can be instrumental in the growth, development, and advancement of a school’s teaching staff. The purpose of this assignment is to learn more about the different types of evaluation instruments and to analyze the use of classroom observations in teacher evaluations. Part 1: Evaluation Instrument Comparison Infographic
Research qualitative and quantitative evaluation instruments a principal may use for classroom observation and select one of each to examine. Create a chart or infographic to compare the qualitative and quantitative evaluation instruments. Address the following areas of each evaluation instrument in the infographic: Purpose of the evaluation instrument, Teachers buy-in and/or trust of the evaluation instrument, Consistency, objectivity, and potential for bias, and Consideration for diverse learners.

Part 2: Observation Analysis Essay
Write a 525- to 700-word analysis of the use of classroom observations in teacher evaluations that addresses the following topics: The administrator’s role in promoting effective instruction to all students, including diverse learners, Challenges in supervising and evaluating instruction, Strategies for mitigating extraneous factors in observations , Approaches for helping teachers improve instruction, particularly for diverse learners.
