The following is my volunteer experience description:

On September 26, I went to Rethink kitchen for volunteer. I worked with a kitchen staff, a lady name Catharina, who already worked there one year. Under her guidance, I did some food preparation work such as:
Soak kale for few seconds. Then rub them gently, then rinsing, then put into a container for dry, then cut into 3 inches, then put into a big container, this kale ready for make salad.
After finishing it, I washed 3 big bag carrots, same thing, take out rotten ones put into garbage can, put rest into sink, soak, rinse, then take them out , place them a container for dry.
After Lunch, I did some pepper for cleaning. Get rid of rotten ones, took out stickers, then rinse them, then dice the colorful pepper for small pieces, then put into container for next days’ cooking.
What I learned is, it is a great experience for volunteer, even though I stayed there just few hours, but I got to know what community kitchen looks like, and got some general idea how chef work in the kitchen. Most important is I learned how the fresh vegetables &fruits storage because I stepped their storage room to take those fresh vegetables, they are storing for working.
